Travel App Kayak Gets a Redesign and is Now Universal

Ultra popular travel app Kayak has received an update just in time for the holidays. The new version of the app has been redesigned to be universal, functioning equally well on both the iPad and the iPhone. Previously, users were forced to download two different apps each with a separate interface, but this new streamlined experience should be easier to use.

If you are unfamiliar with Kayak, it is an all-inclusive travel app that allows users to compare hundreds of travel sites at once right on any iDevice. Customers can compare deals on hotels, flights, and car rentals, plus track flight status, view and manage trip itineraries, book hotels, look up baggage fees, and find vital airline and airport information.

The iPad version has received quite an overhaul. The flight search functionality has been redesigned, there’s an all new hotel search, and a new car search. You can view all of your Kayak trips on the iPad, and autofill has been implemented to help users fill out forms when booking hotels.

Kayak’s iPhone version remains essentially the same, but it has been updated to provide users with autofill as well.

The new universal version of Kayak is currently available in the App Store, and can be downloaded to your iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch for free.
