Big screen budget action with the Toshiba Satellite C670

Toshiba has announced a duo of new Satellite laptops - the Satellite C670 and Satellite C670D - which it states are "entry level", so they shouldn't break the bank.

The only difference between the two is the choice of processors. With the C670 you're gonna be taking a walk down the Intel path with either a Core i3 or a Pentium chip, and with the C670D you'll be going down the AMD route with the E-series processor.

Both are big screen laptops; 17.3-inch displays with HD 1600x900 resolutions and Toshiba's TruBrite tech on board too.

Storage is of the HDD variety - up to 320GB and you'll get up to 4GB of RAM (which is expandable to 8GB, if you want more oomph).

There's a DVD double layer optical drive built in, and connectivity is via Wi-Fi and a couple of USB ports. There's also a webcam built in and you'll get Windows 7 Home Premium as standard.

Basically, these are a couple of no-frills laptops, that should suit, should you be after an everyday machine for basic tasks, and also a bit of late night big screen movie action too.
