Samsung thanks Apple for Galaxy Tab 10.1 help down under
Do you like this story?
But we couldn't ignore this cheeky dig, featured in an advert from The Sun Herald newspaper, from the Korean company after it won the right to put the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 on sale in the land down under following the Australian High Court's decision to reject Apple's appeal.
"The tablet Apple tried to stop". It's got a lovely ring to it, hasn't it? It's the kind of advertising by-line that money can't buy. A fact agreed by Samsung Australia's vice president of telecommunications, Tyler McGee, who stated that Apple's legal action had made the 10.1 more famous than Skippy.
"At the end of the day the media awareness certainly made the Galaxy Tab 10.1 a household name compared to probably what it would've been based on the investment that we would've put into it from a marketing perspective," he said.
McGee also confirmed that the antipodean Galaxy Tab wasn't a botch job of the original, due to removals following the legal battle, but the same device that is on sale around the world. He also promised the Aussie public the Samsung Galaxy 7.7 before 2011 comes to a close and the 8.9 early next year.
It's fair dinkum mate....
