This iPad 3 rumor comes from Taiwan’s Economic Daily and also states that Apple will begin production on a newly revamped MacBook Air which will go on sale sometime at the end of June. This information is believed to be refreshed from an earlier report published by Appleinsider. Rumors of the iPad 3 are claiming that Apple will be seeking a launch for the iPad 3 later this year in the fourth quarter. Even more shocking than the release rumors that keep coming up are the reports on the display for the iPad 3. According to those reports, the resolution of the Apple iPad 3 could be approaching 2560 X 1920, or five to six times greater than the iPad 2′s current pixel density.
We’re not sure at this point about the validity of this rumor and how it seems rather farfetched. While reports do claim that insiders and industry sources are suggesting that Apple is seeking to maintain its distance ahead of competitors by adopting an aggressive release schedule; we aren’t fully convinced.
iPad 3 Specs Would Need A Big Boost
In order to power such a massive increase in display the iPad 3 would certainly need a beefy A6 processor and probably a gig of ram as well. Would they be able to maintain the expected battery life requirements as well as a price point that could still be called consumer friendly? Apple obviously counts on the loyalty of its fan base and they clearly want to stay ahead of the competition and compete with the tablet’s that will eventually become contenders, but at what cost?
At this point, it doesn’t seem like an iPad 3 with those specs could have a chance at being developed, tested, and marketed in such a short time. The iPad 3 and iCloud will all come together in perfect harmony when its released alleviating a lot of consumer woes with storage, however if the iPad 3 is going to be boosting mega specs then count on an A6 quad core processor like the claims we published on the Amazon tablet contender.
