iPad 3 Rumors: Apple Seeks To Launch iPad 3 Alongside iPods

Waiting A Year And A Half Wouldn’t Make Sense For Apples iPad 3

Apple is trying to get the release of the iPad’s to a similar rotation as the iPod.  Here’s Why…
We’ve touched on this in past rumors how Apple saw widespread success during holiday sales with the first generation iPad.  Capitalizing on this for future generation iPad’s would be the right move for Steve Jobs (as long as they can keep them in stock :P ).
Respected opinions believe that Apple is looking to offer the iPad 3 alongside the iPod line in a September release; and on a routine annual basis hereafter.  How are they going to do so? Well Apple would have to take the plunge and alter their release from its current spring launch cycle (which may upset a few iPad 2 buyers; but we’re positive they’ll get over it).

As usual we shouldn’t expect a confirmation from Steve Jobs until the month of the iPad 3‘s actual release.  He clearly wants to keep the spotlight and hype on the iPad 2 as long as possible.
We really don’t believe that Apple would wait a full year and a half to make the change, simply because competitors are working frantically to try and best Apple’s tablet.  This is why there’s reason to believe that we could very well see the iPad 3 come September.  Waiting a full year and a half may put them in jeopardy of losing some of their staggering 90% tablet market share.
Competitors are struggling to offer a competitive product that is also similarly priced.
Apple has stated that 2011 is the year of the iPad 2, but that doesn’t mean we won’t see a September or even late 2011 release on the ipad 3.  We think Apple could still get away with a late 2011 release of the iPad 3 and still brand it as the iPad of 2012!
