SocialFolders adds Evernote integration to service

SocialFolders, a new service that lets users sync media from their web-based social networks directly to their computers, is adding Evernote integration to its roster of services.
SocialFolders emerged from beta in December, and has been described as sort of “Dropbox for social media.” Users could already turn to the Mac application to download their media from—or upload it to—services such as Facebook, Flickr, Photobucket, Google Docs, Box, YouTube, Twitter, SmugMug, Instagram, and Picasa. Users can also share media between services—say, by moving a photo from Facebook to Twitter—using SocialFolders, without using a browser. Tuesday’s announcement means that photos, video, and other items from those services can now also be saved directly to a user’s Evernote account.
SocialFolders users must download the application from the company website. (It’s not available in the Mac App Store.) Once installed, it creates a “SocialFolders” folder in your computer's Documents folder; on your Mac, the app automatically adds a shortcut to the Finder sidebar. The service then downloads a user’s media from their social networks once a day—more often if they use the “refresh my folders” option in the menu. Users can also save photos and other media posted to social networking sites by selected friends. (See the embedded video below for a quick guide to SocialFolders.)
The free version of SocialFolders lets users connect to three services and manage up to 2,000 files; a premium version $10 a year—or $2 a month—and allows users to connect to all the available social services and manage an unlimited number of files.
