Be a Hero in Sprinkle: Water Splashing Fire Fighting Fun

Sprinkle: Water Splashing Fire Fighting Fun, from Mediocre AB, is one of those above average games that had a quiet release and never got a chance to shine in the App Store, despite realistic water physics, challenging gameplay, and fun puzzles to solve.
Sprinkle is a physics based puzzle game where players will fight a series of fires with a crane mounted water cannon. The cannon is stationary, and players must adjust the height and the angle of the cannon in order to successfully extinguish the fires in each level.
As in most games of this type, the cannon can be adjusted with simple swipe gestures to achieve the proper measurements to reach fires. Of course, it will take some experimentation, which can be tricky because fires must be put out before they burn down straw huts, and there’s a limited amount of water for each level.
Initially levels are simple, and putting out fires is just a matter of pointing and spraying with the big red button. Things get more challenging as the game progresses and obstacles, spinning wheels, and traps are introduced. The water cannon will need to be used to move blocks, spin cogs, and press buttons in order for the water to be able to successfully reach the fires.
The goal in every level is to use as little water as possible to put out the fires, which will result in the highest score. For the first chapter of the game (12 levels) you can choose any level to play, so if you get stuck you can move on. After that, you must unlock levels to progress, which is a bit frustrating if you can’t figure out a particular puzzle. You will need to earn a certain number of drops to move on, so you will likely be playing levels more than once.
Overall, Sprinkle is a game that is easy to learn but incredibly difficult to master. Getting enough drops to unlock levels is an exercise in patience, but great level design and fun water physics makes replaying levels worthwhile.

What I liked: The water physics are realistic, and the concept is original. The game is fun, the graphics are great, the characters are cute, and the puzzles are challenging without being too difficult.
What I didn’t like: The controls could have been better. It was difficult to adjust the angle of the cannon at times.
To buy or not to buy: This game is currently free to download, so it’s worth checking out.
