iPad 3 Release Review: Griffin Technology IntelliCase

iPad 2 Intellicase Review

iPad 3 Release got the chance to review the IntelliCase, one of the many cases created by Griffin Technology. They produce many different types of cases, and other accessories for the iPad 2 along with many other products such as the iPhone.

iPad 2 IntelliCase Pros:

iPad 3 CaseDesign: The IntelliCase is of course similar to the design of Apple’s Smart Cover. The difference here is that it adds protection to the rear of the device. This is something you of course don’t get with the cover from Apple. The aluminum back of the iPad very prone to scratches, and even worse, dents. There are cut outs for all the ports and buttons, but importantly all the edges of the iPad are covered. The iPad snaps snugly into the rear shell without any issue. The screen protection has magnets to engage the auto lock feature when you “close” the iPad 2 into its case. The IntelliCase seems well constructed and we have had no issues with durability or the iPad 2 beginning to slip in the case. We however have not continually removed the iPad 2 from the shell. Doing so may over time wear down the tension that holds the iPad in place.

iPad 2 IntelliCase Cons:

The manner in which the stand is designed is decent, but could be done better. Instead of magnets the shell of the case has a cut out which the front slides into. This creates a aiPad Intellicase Review fold for the case to stand on. Overall the front stays in place, but at times it takes a little maneuvering. Overall not a big deal at all, but not as “cool” as the use of magnets. This design feature would not be a reason to not buy the case in our eyes.

Overall the IntelliCase is a well designed case that offers full protection for your iPad 2. The nice thing about the design is that it is very slim and very lightweight. This keeps with  the original design and intentions of the iPad 2. There is no real added bulk that many other cases and other protection cause. For that reason we highly recommend taking a look at Griffin Technology IntelliCase for the iPad 2. If this doesn’t seem like the case you want, or if you’re looking for other iPad 2 accessories check out what Griffin Technology has to offer.
