Kingdom Rush Review
Do you like this story?
Orcs, trolls and evil wizards oh my. Kingdom Rush proves that the tower defense genre is still alive.
The positives about this game are many. I rather enjoyed the different styles of towers, from the basic four to the specialized eight. It kept the game going for me. There are a total of 18 special abilities such as greasing up the swords with extra power or shooting poisonous arrows from the archery tower. The gameplay becomes even more addictive as the game progresses. Strategy becomes an even bigger part of they game and choosing which tower to place where and which tower to put next to it are essential questions that needs to be answered. I found putting a barracks before a few shooting towers helped barricade the enemies in, which allowed the towers to get more shots in.
As for cons, there aren’t many other than how difficult the game can be at times. Of course, this might be my inability to properly choose the most ideal strategy. Regardless, I found myself restarting the more difficult levels several times before figuring out what to put where.
The monsters, their strengths and their abilities vary for some extremely intense gameplay. Some are fast, but weak and some are slow, but powerful. Then, there is the fast and powerful that really throw the gamer’s strategy out the door.
Kingdom Rush offers enough variety in towers and enemies to take up more than a few minutes of someone’s time, especially those who enjoy a very well done tower defense game. And this is one of them making it an easy recommendation to buy.
