Lexar pops in 128GB SDXC card

Lexar pop in 128GB SDXC card

Look, we know that this is hardly the most exciting announcement that's likely to come out of CES, but in these days of 1080p HD camcorders, big storage options should not be overlooked.
And big is certainly what Lexar Media has in mind with its latest SDXC memory cards, that weigh in at 64GB and an industry first 128GB Class 10 option (although we're still waiting for the 2TB SDXC cards that we were promised a couple of years back).
Both cards have a transfer rate of 20MB per second (133x speed rate) and come with a lifetime warranty. They're not cheap though - $400 for the 64GB version and $700 for the 128GB one.
"The professional photography industry is at a point where digital photo and video capture methods are converging, meaning that professional shooters need a memory solution with the versatility and reliability to safely store both photos and videos", said Pachi Chen-Wong, senior product marketing manager at Lexar Media.
"The 64GB and 128GB Lexar Professional 133x SDXC cards combine high-speed performance with large capacities to offer solutions for professionals who shoot large volumes of high-resolution images and HD video".
The SDXC cards will be out in the first quarter of 2011. UK prices have not been disclosed as of yet.
