iPad 3 – Apple Scrapping Samsung & Seeking TSMC for A6 Production?

Will the iPad 3 roll out even thinner than the iPad 2? Well it appears so, and here’s why Apple fans. By now you are well aware of the ongoing battle between Apple and Samsung despite their contractual relationship to produce components like the A5 Processor currently in the iPad 2.
New sources and information have surfaced suggesting that Apple is in talks with TSMC or Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company for A6 Processor production. The Cupertino giant is apparently looking to replace long time partner Samsung for more than one reason.
iPad 3 A6 Processor and TSMC
Yes, they have been at each other’s throats in a legal dispute because Apple said enough is enough once their Galaxy line was far too similar to the iPhone and iPad but also because of TSMC’s new process. We’d love Apple and Samsung to hash out their hard feelings and continue their component sourcing relationship; but we love innovation just as much.By allowing TSMC to develop the A6 Processor, Apple would be taking advantage of their new 28nm process which is roughly two-thirds that of the A5 processor which is made by (now heated rival) Samsung.
Will we see the TSMC A6 before the iPad 3 release date?
So you’re probably wondering how soon we can get a glimpse at TSMC’s capabilities and their (rumored) new sleek processor in development currently known as the A6. Well it may be as soon as the iPhone refresh later this year (as long as it’s the iPhone 5 and not 4S), but we won’t know for sure until it’s released and someone does a full analysis and tear-down of the components in the iPhone 5.Partnering with TSMC would allow for a performance improvement with less power consumption, higher processing speeds and 28nm chips. Yes, that would also mean Apple would probably be able to shave some width off the iPad 3 once again from that of the iPad 2
