Arch Fiery Review
Do you like this story?
This game can be loosely defined as a platformer. Players take control of what looks to be a ball of fire with a long fiery tail. By tilting the device and tapping to jump, the player guides this fireball through different levels trying to get it to the finish line. Currently there are two level packs: the Burnt Forest, a spooky dead forest environment and Sizzle City, an urban environment. The levels basically play out as mazes with players needing to find a way through obstacles in order to get to the end of the level. This means the player will often have to guide the ball of fire through some tricky series of jumps.
The games controls are unique and the way the ball responds to the controls is very different from other platformers players may be familiar with. The jump only seems to work once the ball has bounced twice off of some surface and when the ball jumps the player has to pay close attention to how high they jump because the ball will go flying off in that direction and may go much farther than the player anticipated. Once the player is familiar with the controls though, they should be able to navigate the ball around the levels with relative ease.
The environments look good, but the fiery ball and its tail are the best looking part of the game. The level design is rudimentary and the gameplay isn’t very compelling though, so players won’t likely have the drive to seem much of the game. Players craving a super simple platformer might enjoy Arch Fiery, but the game doesn’t have much more than that to offer; other than some cool fire effects.
