Quizboard is what happens when you combine games such as Trivial Pursuit and Words with Friends together. The game is about answering trivia questions correctly while strategically making the right moves on the board. Thanks to its challenging and addicting game play, players will have a hard time putting their iPhones down for too long. Race against your friends or opponents in this game to see who is the smartest.
In Quizboard, players take turns answering five trivia questions that range from such categories as science and history to Seinfeld. During every turn, players select a category from the right and drag it to the game board to try and get as many points as possible. The player with the highest score whenever the star is reached wins the game.
Players earn 100 points for each correctly answered questions, but there are several ways to earn additional points such as getting a streak by answering multiple questions correctly in a row, placing questions on bonus squares and combining two questions with the same color to create a score bonus question.
The online multiplayer option allows gamers to compete with other players through Facebook or against a random opponent. Considering how new this game is, I had no trouble finding a random player. Thanks to push notifications, gamers are always aware of when it is their turn to make a move. While the online game play works great, there’s currently no pass and play option.
Quizboard comes with many broad questions to keep the game play interesting. The questions aren’t too difficult, but there are definitely a few that had me stumped. The only downfall to this game is that the free version only comes with advertisements and one board. Gamers who wish to get rid of the ads and receive all ten of the game board layouts must upgrade to the premium version for $2.99.
Overall, Quizboard is a fun game with a simple concept. It doesn’t get boring quickly and the multiplayer games are smooth and responsive. Whether you’re a trivia buff or someone who just likes to compete with their friends, Quizboard is worth checking out—especially since the basic version is free.
