Nikon Coolpix S4300 and S3300 16-megapixel snappers land

These lower end compacts have an emphasis on style, small sizes and simple point-and-shoot operations and, with their sub £150 price tags, will be aimed at people looking to upgrade their ageing budget cams.
They both pack a 16-megapixel sensor, Nikkor 6x zoom lenses, lens-shift vibration reduction technology, 720p HD video recording and in-camera filter effects. The S4300 boasts a bigger 3-inch (460k dot) LCD monitor with touchscreen controls; the S3300 has a 2.7-inch non-touch LCD display.
Both are Eye-Fi compatible, have re-touch options for enhancing your images and both pack Nikon's Expeed C2 image processing system.
"Both the Coolpix S3300 and Coolpix S4300 are designed for capturing fleeting moments as soon as they happen," said Nicolas Gillet of Nikon Europe. "They are sleek enough to fit in any purse or pocket, and come in such eye-catching colours that you’ll want to take them everywhere."
How sleek exactly? Just 19.5mm thick, that's how.
Out in February the S4300 should cost around £150, the S3300 around £120.
