There is no denying that the Invoxia NVX 610 Desktop VoIP phone is beautiful from start to finish (built using glass, stainless steel and other materials described by Invoxia as being environmentally friendly). By making calls directly from your iPod, iPhone or iPad using the dedicated Invoxia application, this phone promises to deliver an experience with true ease of use, revolutionary ergonomics, sleek design, amazing acoustics, dramatic sound spatialization and disruptive technologies.

When it comes to connectivity, there is no shortage of options. Whether you use the built-in 30-pin dock connector, your Apple supplied sync cable, Bluetooth or even ethernet if you want to connect your network cable and computer.

A hands-on review of the device by Engadget reveals that the phone appears functional and handsome it not a little too expensive –at least for home use, though a less expensive home version of the device is expected to be available in the coming months. The most useful feature that they identified was the positional-based integrated speakerphone, which they describe in the following way: “If both callers are using the 610 and this mode is enabled, it uses eight microphones and eight speakers to differentiate between users based on where they’re sitting in a room. Callers sitting to the left of their phone will be heard from the left speakers, for example — particularly helpful when you’re talking to multiple people speaking from the same conference room.”

While not an important or key feature in most VoIP phones, Invoxia’s NVX 610 can also offer music-playback for your MP3′s as well as all other musical apps, streaming radio and podcasts. Perhaps not something that sells you on the unit but definitely a nice value-added way to use the space on your desk taken up by this phone.
