Intuit Helps Banks Create iPad Ready Banking Apps

Banking apps are all the rage right now. Bank of America, Chase and Capital One all have their own apps for mobile banking. Smaller, more independent and localized banks are even jumping on the bandwagon.

Intuit Financial Services is capitalizing on this trend and has created an iPad app that allows banks and credit unions to offer mobile banking to their customers.
The Intuit Tablet Banking for the iPad application helps banking customers and credit union members view account balances and transaction histories, transfer funds, pay bills, locate nearby ATMs and branches and access their financial institution’s mobile website.
Intuit is offering this mobile app directly to banks and credit unions so that they can offer their own app to customers. For example, ESL Federal Credit Union has their own app, listed in the app store under their own name, but the credit union is using Intuit’s Tablet Banking app.
“Consumers are more mobile than ever and that’s changing how they access their banking information on a day-to-day basis via a multitude of devices,” said CeCe Morken, senior vice president and general manager of Intuit Financial Services. “We understand the wide technology needs of consumers who want financial information at their fingertips, whether at home, on-the-go, or at work. By expanding our offerings, we’re helping banks and credit unions better serve some of their most active customers.”
Currently, more than 450 banks and credit unions use Intuit’s mobile Web, text messaging and downloadable application solutions on mobile devices. The iPad specific app is the next step in bringing mobile banking to everyone.
Check out this video for a demo of what Intuit’s app can do for financial institutions.
