Give a Dog a Bone in Diggin’ Dogs – iPad Game Review

Diggin' Dogs
Have you always wanted a dog but worried that they would destroy your yard? Have those fears realized in Diggin’ Dogs, as you guide a pack of enthusiastic (and adorable) puppies trough a maze of dirt (and hidden treasures) until they reach their bone.

The developer describes the game controls as intuitive and incredibly easy to master and this is absolutely true. The interface itself is very easy to use and makes this the kind of game that you can pick up and have some fun with and not need to read a series of manuals. This alone earns the game a thumbs-up review from me.
As you guide your puppies through the dirt, be sure to avoid the things that could hurt them –like poisonous mushrooms or wasps intent on stinging! Bonuses can be had with the hidden coins or special hats giving you all the more reason to replay levels over and over if you are like me and strive for perfect scores!
The game has plenty of play potential with Forest, Snow, Junkyard, Jungle and Volcano worlds that span 61 levels. The difficulty of each level increases exponentially as your progress, but even the early scenes are a lot of fun!
What I liked: This game is fun and themed in a way that makes it fun for the whole family. I love the games that do not contain anything objectionable and especially liked that even though the higher levels were difficult for my 3 year old daughter to complete, she still very much enjoyed playing this game with me.
What I didn’t like: Because this is a game that younger children can play (who may not be able to read), I was thinking that it would be nice if there was some out-loud narration of the instructions or goals instead of signs on the screen alone. This kind of addition would easily make the game worth double the price.
To buy or not to buy: If you are a dog person, don’t hesitate before grabbing this app.
