AT&T U-Verse App Links your iPad to your TV for a Whole New Viewing Experience

AT&T is the latest company to jump on the iPad bandwagon, with its new AT&T U-verse for iPad app. Like many similar offerings from Comcast and Time Warner, the U-verse app allows customers to watch television from a library of movies and TV shows.

In addition to providing streaming content, the app also turns your iPad into a TV companion, offering extra information and bonus TV show content like photos, cast and crew information, plus more.

When you’re away from home, the U-verse app can be used to watch TV shows and movies from a library of content provided by AT&T, which is great because some services (Time Warner) don’t provide content when you’re not logged into your home network. You can also use the iPad to manage your DVR content and check out the TV Guide to plan out future television viewing.

Of course, you can still access all of the same content and features while at home, plus your iPad functions as a remote control, allowing you to play recorded shows, change the channel, and pause and rewind whatever you’re watching.

As I mentioned before, you can also use the iPad app as a companion to the TV, getting instant information on the cast, plus extra information like photos, videos, and future episode information. You can even share what you’re watching with your friends on Facebook, so you and your friends can chat about what’s going on with Dan and Blair, what’s happening this week on Glee, or what you think of that new Alcatraz show.

The AT&T U-verse for iPad app is available for AT&T U-verse customers. If you’ve got U-verse, you can download the app in the App Store for free.
