EDF Energy London Eye installs Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1s for interactive experience

EDF Energy London Eye installs Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1s for interactive experience
The EDF Energy London Eye has announced a tie-in with Samsung, which sees the capital's landmark and world’s tallest cantilevered observation wheel offer in-capsule experiences using numerous Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1s.
Each capsule will feature a wall of tablet devices, which will be enabled for visitors to interact with in order to find details and key information on the other London landmarks that can be seen from the Eye. There will also be 3D models of the sights available to view.
The bespoke content housed on the Galaxy Tabs has been exclusively built by LMC design and Henry Stuart Photography for the London Eye and includes multi-dimensional views of London's sights using 360 degree non-stop-24-hour filming. And its creation complies with months of research and testing into what enhancements visitors would most like implemented.
"When testing the tablets, guests reported that they found them fun and engaging to interact with, a useful and informative addition to their experience and that they improved the atmosphere and aesthetics of the capsule," says the company.
"Furthermore, with the addition of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in each capsule visitors were more likely to recommend the London Eye to friends and families as a great-value destination."
At present, all but three or four of the capsules have been fitted with the devices, with an extensive refitting process underway. The work is due to be completed in May, after which all of the pods will be Galaxy Tabbed to the hilt.
Pocket-lint is travelling in one of them shortly, so will let you know what the newly-enhanced experience is like soon.
