Put Your Little One In Santa’s Seat With JibJab Jr. Books

To celebrate the holiday season, JibJab Jr. has added some Christmas adventures for your child to enjoy. Put your little one into the front seat of Santa’s sleigh to help spread joy to every girl and boy in “Saving Christmas”.JibJab is best known for their silly animation webisodes that allow users to put their own face right onto one of the animations, complete with fine-tuning to really make the video funny. JibJab Jr. has the children’s book version of the same thing. Using your iPad’s camera feature, or selecting a photo from your camera roll, put your child right into the story.
The company’s most recent book release includes “Saving Christmas” and “Snow Much Fun.” The winter tale of “Snow Much Fun” Will give your little one the chance to play in the snow without having to put on all that cold weather gear.
“Saving Christmas” is the tale of a curious boy or girl that stumbles upon Santa Claus with a twisted ankle. Santa can’t finish his present-giving rounds with his injury and needs your child’s help to deliver joy to the world. The pages of this book has your little one flying around the world in Santa’s magic sleigh, doling out presents to boys and girls, and ultimately saving Christmas. Kids will be so excited to see themselves dressed as Old Saint Nick, dropping off presents to good little girls and boys.The app is free and comes with “The Biggest Pizza Ever.” Each book, including “Saving Christmas” and “Snow Much Fun” is $7.99 a piece, or $3.99 for a monthly subscription. Books and subscriptions can be downloaded through in-app purchases.
With the most recent update, JibJib Jr. books now include sound. This is something that was sorely missed in the previous version. There is still no music, but that is not necessary. The pages are choked full of clever sound effects to enhance the story. There is still no read-to-me feature, but hopefully, the developers are working on that.
What I liked: Bringing Christmas into JibJab Jr. books is a great way to engage your child and get them in the holiday spirit. Having your little one be Santa’s helper, dressed in the infamous red and white suite, will bring a smile to their face.
What I didn’t like: The premium price of $7.99 is hard to swallow. However, similarly to high priced magazines in the App Store, these books can be purchased for a much lower price of $3.99 if you pay a monthly subscription fee.To buy or not to buy: The subscription price of $3.99 is just right for books like these. If you don’t want to invest in a monthly charge, the $7.99 premium is still a great way to let your little one play Santa.
