Online Shoe Seller Zappos Leverages iPad for New Lifestyle App

If you ask someone to name the best place to buy shoes, apparel, and accessories on the Internet, they will likely answer with Zappos.com. Over the last several years, Zappos has built a thriving apparel and footwear website, known for its large inventory of items and its easy service and hassle-free returns.Zappos already has a highly rated app for purchasing products in the App Store, but the company has added a new resource for shoe lovers and fashionistas – Zappos Now, a monthly digital lifestyle magazine for the iPad.
Zappos Now, or “ZN” includes articles, advice, and information on the hottest fashion trends, and allows readers to purchase featured items right from the app.
To tempt consumers into giving the app a whirl, all purchases made from Zappos through ZN will be sent with free next day business shipping, with no minimum purchase required. And don’t think it’s just another shoe catalog – ZN features plenty of editorial content in addition to product information, making for an engaging, visual mobile shopping experience.
The first issue of ZN is currently live in the App Store, and can be downloaded for free. It features a report on color trends, an interview with Zappos.com stylist Brooke Hyden, a feature on online fashion community LOOKBOOK.nu, plus information on travel destinations, current style trends, and a holiday gift guide. Even if you’re not into the editorial content, I’d check this one out just for the free next day shipping. That’s a great deal!
