Google Adds ‘Image Carousel’ Feature to Image Search on iPad

Back in July, Google began revamping the design of its search engine on Android and iOS tablets, adding a less cluttered layout larger touch targets to make searching faster and easier. Many of you were less than impressed with the layout, but hopefully the changes that Google implemented for its image searching will have a better reception.
Google’s newly added feature is an image carousel, which is used for viewing image search results with just a few swipes.
When searching for an image using Google’s image search, you will now see bigger thumbnails, and more of them. There’s less wasted space, which looks great, in my opinion.
To access the new carousel feature, just tap an image, and it will zoom in. You can then swipe left or right to view other search results. Even when loading large images, the image carousel was ultra fast, with no lag between swipes. Now you can view hundreds of pictures of kittens and other cute animals in mere minutes. It’s a great browsing experience, and one that will have me using my iPad for image searches a lot more often.
You can access Google’s new image carousel by searching for an image on any tablet. Love it? Hate it? Let us know what you think in the comments.
