We just wanted to bring you up to speed on the ongoing legal battle and Samsung’s request to see the iPad 3. Samsung has been denied access to Apple’s iPad 3 and iPhone 5 after a US judge dismissed the demand for Apple to hand over the unreleased devices.
Earlier we reported that Samsung’s request would fall flat and was simply a rebuttal against Apple for being granted access to their already demoed devices. Samsung claimed they wanted to make sure Apple’s devices weren’t infringing upon their own patents, but Samsung appears to be the one at fault here.
iPad 3 Out of Samsung’s Reach For Now
If you aren’t already aware; this legal battle stemmed from Apple calling foul on long-time partner Samsung when the Galaxy line of devices appeared to be shockingly similar in design and usability to the Apple iPhone and iPad.Interestingly enough though, Judge Lucy Koh has proclaimed that Samsung will still be allowed to return to the iPad 3 and iPhone 5 once the devices are revealed to the public’s eye. At that time they may bring the devices back into question.
Judge Lucy Koh Stated:
By choosing to allege infringement only of its current products, Apple opens itself up to these arguments.
Will Samsung Dismiss their Request to see the iPad 3 in the Future
Judge Lucy Koh declared Samsung is free to argue the fact that Apple has claimed foul only on its current products and how they may soon be out of the spotlight when new models are released; leaving its future devices (once released) to be brought up in question once again. Will this legal battle ever be resolved? When will Samsung get their first peak at the iPad 3? Not before you or I do as well. Heck, Samsung may even decide to ditch this tactic at trying to prove themselves altogether. Let’s hope they can find a resolution amongst each other since Apple and Samsung have a lengthy history together and we all know you want Samsung’s new drool worthy display technologies tucked into your iPad 3 or other Apple handhelds.
