HP Pavilion dv6 and dv7 notebooks redesigned with high-end features

HP Pavilion dv6 and dv7 notebooks redesigned with high-end features. Laptops, HP, HP Pavilion dv6, HP Pavilion dv7, notebooks, 0

HP has announced that it will be bringing a range of new Pavilion notebook PCs to the market which feature some pretty smart tech at what should be a half decent price. There's also an all-in-one PC that's been launched; a touchscreen desktop PC that features a 60-degree reclining display.

In terms of the netbooks lineup, it consists of the Pavilion dv6 and dv7 as the headline machines, with the g6 and g7 described as "more affordable".

So what are we looking at? From the press release it looks as though HP is trying to tempt folks interested in its Envy machines (but find the price a little off-putting) as the Pavilion dv6 and dv7 "leverage design elements from the award-winning ENVY line".

Specs include Beats Audio speakers, USB 3.0 and HD webcams, all powered by the new Intel Sandy Bridge Core i5 and i7 processors and AMD Radeon 6000M graphics. Screen sizes are 15.6- and 17.3-inch for the dv6 and dv7 respectively. Both will also come with Blu-ray options and some serious storage up to 2 terabytes.
The two lower-end models are available in the form of the Pavilion g series - g6 and g7.

Nothing to really write home about, the PR blurb says it all: "ideal for the everyday user with reliable performance, attractive designs and essential features at a great value."

The g6 gets a 15.4-inch screen with the g7 slightly bigger a 17.3 inches, and they'll both come in a variety of colours to fit "any style or personality".
More on the touchscreen desktop PC, it's called the HP TouchSmart and its headline feature is that it has a reclining display that also tilts 5 degrees forward ( as well as the 60-degree recline) meaning it should offer improved comfort over long sessions.
The LED backlit LCD screen backs up all this added movement with decent viewing angles and a 180 degree wide-arc swivel to share the screen with others. The TouchSmart also features Beats Audio.
The Pavillion dv6 and dv7 as well as the g6 and g7 will be availble in May, with pricing yet to be worked out. Whilst the TouchSmart should be available in April with a starting price of £999.
