Hewlett-Packard Concedes the Crown to Apple As Number One PC Seller

Whitman was quick to state that HP will try to retake the crown in 2013.
In the same interview, Whitman responded to questions regarding the future of webOS, the company’s mobile operating system.
“We should announce our decision in the next two weeks,” said Whitman. “This is not an easy decision, because we have a team of 600 people which is in limbo.”HP’s webOS has seen its demise due to the fact that the company pulled out of the tablet market by discontinuing sales of its TouchPad and all other webOS-based hardware. The company subsequently had a fire sale on the TouchPad, pushing its popularity to the forefront due to its unbelievably low price tag.
By getting out of the tablet market and focusing on what HP does best, they may hold the coveted first place crown again, even if you do consider an iPad a PC.
