Bring Your Coffee Cup to Life with the Starbucks Magic Cup app

It’s not truly the holiday season until Starbucks breaks out the red cups and adds the delicious Gingerbread Lattes and Peppermint Mochas to the menu. I love when October rolls around and I can get my favorite drink, the Pumpkin Spice Latte. Yum!This year, Starbucks has a new mobile app to add to the holiday fun: Starbucks Cup Magic. The app provides an augmented reality experience that customers can use to discover special holiday characters that are on the iconic red cups, coffee bags, and Starbucks signs.
Whimsical holiday characters will leap to life in a variety of merry holiday scenes, from carolers singing holiday songs, to a wintery ice skater spinning on the ice, to a boy and his dog sledding down a snowy hill.
Cup Magic can be used to create a snapshot of the virtual scenes to send to friends and family using email or Facebook. App downloaders can also send Starbucks Card eGifts right within the app, making holiday gift giving a simple task.
Starbucks is offering four holiday drinks this year: Peppermint Mocha (There’s a skinny version too), Gingerbread Latte, Caramel Brûlée Latte, and Eggnog Latte. Caffeine-free favorites like peppermint hot chocolate and salted caramel hot chocolate are also available. Each drink highlights the sweet holiday flavors that we all know and love. Of course, your favorite standard Starbucks beverage will also be served in the signature red cups, so you don’t have to miss out on the fun if plain black coffee is your beverage of choice.
To kick off the holiday season, Starbucks is offering a buy one get one free deal to all customers within the United States and Canada. On November 17th through November 20th between 2 and 5 p.m., you and a friend can get two holiday beverages for the price of one. Make sure you stop by your local Starbucks next week to take advantage of the deal, and don’t forget to download your free copy of the Starbucks Cup Magic app to check out the holiday scenes.
