TinyLegends – Crazy Knight is a hack and slash game in which players control the game’s titular knight via simple onscreen button and virtual joystick controls. From an overworld map, the king of Kromdor shows the player where monster infestations are popping up and the player is able to then enter each level and free that area of the kingdom from monsters. Of course, that is as long as they can survive the waves of enemy monsters in that level. Each level is a type of arena and the player must survive long enough to kill all the waves of monsters in that arena. To do this, players employ an arsenal of powerful weapons like battle axes, swords, and hammers; each with its own unique strengths and weaknesses. There are a multitude of enemy types that beset the poor kingdom and each type has a specific set of powers and characteristics. Finding which weapons work best with each enemy type is one of the great parts of this game.
The on screen controls for Crazy Knight have been honed down to one virtual joystick to move the knight around the arena, and one button to execute attacks. Using the single button is super easy and the knight moves fluidly from one attack to another, making it easy to score big with long combo chains. The button can be easy to miss at times when the action gets chaotic but its always very easy to find again.
With lots of different enemies, various environments around the kingdom to play in, and the ability to pull of crazy combos while fighting off huge swarms of enemies, this game is a lot of fun to play. It’s simple enough to enjoy anywhere players want and engaging enough to keep them coming back for more. The character design is that perfect balance between cute and gritty that developer Triniti Interactive has perfected over its last few games and it all comes together very nicely in this very entertaining title.
