Apple Hurrying to Get Apps Ready for iPad 3 Launch Day Demos

Late yesterday, AllThingsD announced that Apple’s next generation iPad will be debuted during the first week of March, likely in San Francisco, at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, which is Apple’s preferred location for its big announcements.

That March deadline is coming up fast, with only three weeks to go. According to sources that contacted The Next Web, Apple is in “crunch mode” working to line up apps to demonstrate on stage during the release of the iPad 3.
In the weeks before an event, Apple spends time getting demonstrations from app developers, and preparing demonstrations of these apps for the live event. This selection process is now in high gear, as Apple finalizes the lineup for the iPad 3.
When the iPad 2 was released, Apple hand picked several apps to show off, including Garage Band, iMovie, and Photo Booth. At the “Let’s Talk” iPhone 4S event, Infinity Blade 2 was used to show off the phone’s graphical capabilities.
Apps chosen for the iPad 3 will likely be system intensive with high definition graphics, since the new iPad is supposed to have a significantly upgraded processor and a new 2048×1536 display.
Any guesses as to what might show up during the demo? I’m having a hard time coming up with anything that tests the limits of the iPad 2 at this point, so I’m not sure what Apple will go with.
