Scribblenauts Developer Announces a New iOS Game

5th Cell, the developer of Scribblenauts Remix, must have enjoyed working on iOS, because that's the platform they've chosen for their next title. Joystiq got the first details on the game, a unique auto-runner called Run Roo Run that's releasing on Thursday. Read on for details, and check out the very promising trailer below.
The game stars Roo, a kangaroo whose joey has been captured, and it's up to you to help her cross Australia to get her child back. The App Store has seen more than its share of auto-runners, but this game is unique in several ways. The most prominent way is that rather than using a procedurally-generated environment like Canabalt and its ilk, the game is divided into 420 individually designed levels.

Also interesting is that each level is only the length of the iPhone's screen. That might sound limiting, but if the trailer is any indication, they sure seem to pack in a lot of variety. The levels will be grouped into chapters that each introduce a new element. Joystiq cites "double-jump items, fans, retracting spikes, and crumbling aerial platforms."
And if 420 levels isn't enough, the developers promise to deliver 10 new levels each week for free, and they'll be available without updating the app. We're very much looking forward to getting our hands on Run Roo Run when it comes out later this week.
