iPads have been increasing in popularity with healthcare workers and hospitals across the country, and with the release of Clipboard, an iPad app that complements MacPractice’s healthcare management software, we may soon be seeing even more iPads in our doctor’s offices.
MacPractice is professional software designed for Macs that is used by doctors and dentists to manage their offices. The software allows them to track patient appointments, maintain patient databases electronically, and enter critical healthcare information at any time, with the easy-to-use interface that supports many other medical solutions.
Clipboard, the iPad app that MacPractice recently released, is designed to work with MacPractice software to allow doctors and dentists to log into the database to access and log information remotely.
“In response to many requests from doctors’ offices to use the iPad for patient registration, we are announcing new Clipboard Apps for the iPad that work in conjunction with MacPractice MD, DDS, DS, and 20/20 v. 4.1 desktop practice management and clinical software,” said Mark Hollis, president of MacPractice.
Patients will be able to complete and sign registration forms within the Clipboard app on office iPads, which will then incorporate the information directly into the patients’ record on the desktop. This streamlines the registration process, saving both paper and staff time, and reducing the risk of data entry errors because of illegible handwriting.
Procedure and healthcare consent forms can also be signed within the app and added automatically to patient accounts, putting everything in one place for easy organization. The addition of the portable iPad to the desktop version of MacPractice will be a welcome solution for both patients and medical professionals, improving patient-doctor communication.
MacPractice’s software is currently used in more than 3,600 practices, and the iPad app will be available soon. It is currently in beta, and will be purchasable in Apple’s App store for $9.99. For more information, check out the
MacPractice website.
