Casio Exilim EX-ZR200 pictures and hands-on

Over at CES in the city of Sin, Casio announced its new flagship compact - the Exilim EX-ZR200 - and Pocket-lint managed to grab hold of one on the show floor and have a quick play.
It's a funky looking little camera, it has to be said, and its slender chassis defies the sort of tech that it is packing within.
It boasts 16-megapixel shooting courtesy of the 1/2.3-inch high-speed CMOS sensor, packs Casio's Rapid Shutter tech, meaning the ability to shoot 30fps at full resolution, and Premium Auto Pro too for automatically assessing the shooting scene in order to get the best settings.
The HDR (high dynamic range) feature also steps in to look after your snaps, combining continuous shots with differing exposures and performing highly precise image analysis to change levels of contrast and colour saturation. This also works when shooting video, which is of the MOV format, H.264/AVC, IMA-ADPCM variety.
There's a wide-angle 24mm, 12.5x optical zoom lens onboard which claims to offer a zoom equivalent to a maximum a 25x one using Casio's Multi Frame SR Zoom, which "combines a number of still images to maintain the image quality needed for high-resolution photography".
There were a number of colour options on show at the expo, the white being our favourite although it did look as if it would get scuffed up pretty easily. It's a nice compact to hold and the build quality seemed tip-top.
The display is definitely a strong point of the ZR200. It held up incredibly well under the LVCC lighting - not surprising really given that it's a 3.0-inch TFT colour Super Clear LCD with a 960x480 resolution.
The Casio Exilim EX-ZR200 is due to hit the shelves in April. In the States it will cost $379.99, the UK price is still TBC.
