Propaganda Review
Do you like this story?
In this game, players are out to help a group of downtrodden piggies that have suffered under the oppression of their winged overlords for too long. In order to fight back against the Bird, as it were, these pigs set out to topple as many of the bird’s signature statues as they can. In order to accomplish this revolutionary feat, players use bundles of dynamite to destroy structures and bring the statues to the ground, often squashing as many birds as they can in the process.
Propaganda is structured like most physics-based puzzle games: there are numbered levels and in each level the player must accomplish the goal, which in this case is making the statues fall below a certain height and knocking out any birds present in the process while not harming any pigs in the level. In each level the player is only given a certain number or dynamite bundles to work with and they have to figure out how to get the most bang out of each bundle. Most of the puzzles are clever enough. Sometimes the challenge will come from trying to systematically destroy a fortified structure, other times it will come from having to use the dynamite to trigger a specific chain of events.
The price tag for this game may seem a little high at first glance but the sheer number of levels in the game makes it well worth a couple of bucks. There are literally hundreds of levels to keep players busy for a good time. They gameplay, while not completely unique in its execution, is fun and consistent. Placing the dynamite can be a bit tricky in some levels but not enough to really hurt the experience in a significant way. Propaganda is a fun game and doesn’t fall into many of the derivative traps other animal grudge match physics games have fallen into. Pick it up if you’re feeling the need to fight some feathery oppression.
