Piggy Bounce Review
Do you like this story?
A delightful romp through the sky, this little piggy ascends through cheerful graphics, sound and gameplay.
Help the pig escape from the farm by bouncing from platform to platform while making sure to choose the platforms wisely. Otherwise face the piggy plummet, and sadly these pigs don’t have wings. Land on three boost platforms in a row and achieve a Super Bounce. The higher the piggy bounces the more birds there are to knock the piggy out of the sky and the less platforms there are to launch off of. Get up high enough and unlock some more fun. With game center letter boards, achievements, online multiplayer, local bluetooth multiplayer, Facebook and Twitter integration there are endless ways to entertain even the most grizzled of player.
I have had this game in my pocket for a while and have found it to be good go-to entertainment. I am a huge fan of well done and complementary sound effects and have been known to sometimes do unnecessary things in gameplay (like find new ways to die) just because I get a kick out of the sound effect. The sound of the piggy super-bouncing off the platform makes me smile, even when I have had a totally bogus run. The controls are fun and even thrilling when you start getting high up, and while I am usually all about having a button and tilt option, the programming on Piggy Bounce’s tilt is choice. Subtle tilts can gently guide the piggy and more dramatic tilts can send it flying. Bouncing too fast? Tilt to the left a bit and slow the piggy down or tilt strongly to the left to create a sort of backwards boomerang effect.
If there could be one improvement, I would love to see some background choices with different obstacles and music. Escape from the farm one day and the next from a factory or a spaceship! The possibilities are endless.
With cheerful graphics, easy to pick up gameplay and multiple ways to be entertained, I may not be the only one with Piggy Bounce as a iOS standard.
