Online Shoppers Use iPad for their Purchasing Convenience

Research firm IBM tracked online shopping habits for Christmas day and found that it spiked by 16.4 percent from last year on the same day. Seven percent of all online purchases were made using an iPad. Looks like Santa made a whole lot of people very happy this year.
IBM’s research showed that the dollar amount of purchases made on Christmas day this year increased by 172.9 percent over last year. Sales continued into Monday as the spike rose ten percent over December 26, 2010.
In addition to the uptick of sales on Christmas day, research firm RichRelevence released a report showing that iPads and iPhones accounted for 92 percent of online retail sales not originating from a desktop.  Apple has done a fine job of making online shopping easy and convenient.
There were plenty of gift cards handed out this Christmas, and what better way to add to the joy of the holiday season then to sit down with a shiny new iPad and shop till you drop. Only the drop will not be far, since you are already sitting on the couch.
