No Need To Play Solo, Now You Can Let Your Friends Sit In On A Jam Session With You
Do you like this story?
With Eddie on the drums, Mike on lead guitar, Axe on rhythm guitar and Francois on keyboards, Rockmate lets up to four people play their own virtual instrument. Chord progressions are preprogrammed so players don’t even have to know how to compose music to write a beautiful pop hit. There are 24 different pedal effects, drum sounds, synthesizer options and chord progressions, all listed by song style. For example, “Sweet Metal” turns up the distortion on the guitar effects and puts some heavy punch on the virtual drums while “Sappy” takes out all the effects on the guitars and turns the keyboard synthesizer into an electric bass.
The only thing missing from this app is vocals. There is no mic feature or external recording feature to allow for adding the lyrics. However, songs can be exported through email, or by dragging them from your iTunes file-sharing feature.
To buy or not to buy: The app is on sale for a mere $0.99 until December 21. At that price, it is almost a crime not to buy it. Regularly priced at $2.99, it is still a great deal on a fun song-writing app.
