The Oregon Trail

This used to available for Apple II and now on iPad. The Oregon Trail from Gameloft is an educational game with 8 mini games that have to do with the different activities on a trail. You can expect to have to go rafting, fishing, hunting, berry picking, wagon repairing, telegraphing, river crossing, and gold panning. It has been re-invented for touch controls and it’s a great casual game for newbies.

If you’ve played it before, aside from the new controls, there isn’t anything new about it. If you liked it then and haven’t outgrown the adventure puzzles, then you’ll have a blast. But it’s another case of “been there, done that.” In short, a little lacking in innovation and tweaking and relying too much on loyalty or nostalgia. You can download it now for just $.99.
