Reports Also Suggest An iPad 3 Release Date In Late 2011
iPad 3 rumors have kicked off again and its back onto the Apple and Samsung saga. Apple watchers over at the Asia News Network stated that Tim Cook took a trip to Samsung headquarters to discuss incorporating the OLED technology into the iPad 3.But, let’s not forget the major lawsuit that is still ongoing between the companies, suggesting that a cooperating partnership for the iPad 3 development may be unlikely.
The News Network also went on to indicate that the iPad 3 would launch toward the end of this year with Apple locking in a deal to manufacture Samsung’s OLED displays for themselves for the entirety of 2011.
OLED touch screens are noticeably superior to the LCD displays. Incorporating an OLED display into the iPad 3 would allow for a thinner and lighter design; offering more vivid colors and better black and whites. Also superior is the touch screen response, quality and viewing angle that can be achieved.
iPad 3 Rumors Are Fluff And Premature At Best?
Other than our above mention of a embroiled lawsuit for copying claims; why would Samsung want to give up their OLED screens to Apple before launching them in their own tablets? Furthermore, that would mean that Samsung would be allowing their coveted displays to reach the market in a competitor’s product.Samsung has also gone on to deny that the discussion even occurred with Apple. The OLED screens are very expensive currently to produce as well, meaning that Samsung would have to find a way to reduce production costs while producing the larger screen.
We’re questioning the iPad 3 release date rumor as well as this relationship with Apple and Samsung altogether because they are too many conflicting issues amidst. Apple fans shouldn’t hold their breathe at this point for an iPad 3 in late 2011.
