iPad 3 Display May Cause Delay
Do you like this story?
Current rumors are putting the iPad 3 screen at 9.7″ and 2048 x 1536 resolution. To put those stats into perspective that’s going to be four times more powerful than the iPad 2 display and a staggering three times more powerful than the current Android HD displays..
iPad 3 Retina Display by Sharp?
That type of screen is really stretching things to the limit in terms of display quality, and rumors are suggesting that the only one capable of manufacturing such a display in those quantities is Sharp. Samsung and LG who currently manufacture Apple’s displays are reportedly not going to be able to reach the demand and likely not the cost Apple wants them produced for either. If Apple cannot solidify a manufacturer for these screens then they either have to release the iPad 3 without such a powerful screen, or they will be forced to allow more time through a delay on the iPad 3 release date. At this point we don’t think Apple is willing to reduce its wanted specs for the iPad 3, especially since this screen would be the best on the market (or world for that matter) for a long time to come.
