iPad 3 Display – LG CEO Also Hints at Retina Display

It’s Monday which some of you may be dreading but we have more news on the iPad 3 for you. If you took the plunge and bought the iPad 2 you may have been pretty unhappy that it didn’t have that many significant upgrades over the original iPad, especially the display.
Last week Gruber continued rumors about the iPad 3 having retina display in a blog post and now Young Soo Kwon (LG CEO) has also potentially slipped up, and hinted towards the inclusion of the anticipated retina screen.
Kwon’s Statement Hinting to iPad 3 Retina Display
more smartphone manufacturers will release new models employing LG’s Retina Display that has been used in iPhones and iPadsThis statement was recorded during an interview with reporters from the Korean Times. At this time we know that LG has supplied retina displays for the iPhone but not for any iPad tablets? This implies that a new iPad which may be in production for a while now has been getting retina displays from LG, and it’s likely the iPad 3.
LG iPad 3 Retina Display Production Makes Sense
With the legal battle still not resolved with Samsung and maybe even getting worse, this is not far-fetched. LG already has been partnered with Apple for components for their devices (iPhone 4 retina display) and using them for iPad 3 screen production makes sense, granted they engineered a retina display that can incorporate the rumored increase in resolution that we want too!I can vividly see it now how marvelous the 2048×1536 retina display would look on the iPad 3, and if a quad-core processor was powering it and matched the recent mockups in design; my dreams would be answered.
