Alec Baldwin’s iPad Addiction Gets Him Kicked Off Plane

If you’ve been on a plane, you’ve heard a flight attendant announce that it is necessary to turn off all personal electronic devices before the plane takes off. And those flight attendants mean business! On Tuesday afternoon, actor Alec Baldwin (30 Rock) was kicked off of an American Airlines flight at LAX for refusing to comply when an attendant asked him to turn off his iPad.Just what happened? “Flight attendant on American reamed me out 4 playing WORDS W FRIENDS while we sat at the gate, not moving. #nowonderamericanairisbankrupt,” the actor Tweeted shortly after the news broke.
Other passengers on the flight also turned to Twitter, complaining about the delay at the gate as Baldwin was removed from the plane. According to one tweet, Baldwin was banned from the flight for “abusive conduct,” but his rep, Matthew Hiltzik made this statement:
“Alec was asked to leave the flight for playing ‘Words with Friends’ on his iPad, while parked at the gate. Alec is so in love with ‘Words with Friends’ that he would risk getting thrown off of a flight to play. He’s already been re-booked on another American Airlines flight.”
American Airlines itself had no comment on the situation, but it’s safe to assume from the tongue-in-cheek statement and the re-booking of the flight that the situation between Baldwin and the airline has been resolved
