“Humm, hum, hum… blarg!” Those are the sounds I made while playing Zepi:Classic in the nail salon. Yes, I got some looks but I did not care because I was too busy pretending that the bugs that I was zapping were the mosquitoes that got into my bedroom the night before. Don’t they know it is too cold to be mosquitoes?
Zepi:Classic is smooth and constantly moving game. With polished jewel toned graphics this kaleidoscopic merriment has a super easy learning curve to complement the endless challenges. Try to make the longest chains of colored orbs (or bugs) my tapping or dragging your finger across the screen. The faster you move to connect the orbs you connect the more points you get. Connect a long chain and recieve power-ups (Good! Great! Excellent! Brilliant!). With Game Center integration the player has the opportunity to unlock achievements while taking a place on the global letterboard.
I am a huge fan of quirky sound effects and Zepi has some. The bug zap is my absolute favorite. It would be great though if it were possible to adjust the sounds. The sound of connecting the orbs is neat, but to me I would much rather have silence and then the gratifying “ZAP” at the end of the chain. It would also be great if it were possible to adjust the speed of the game. Having Easy, Normal and Fast options may make it more appealing for all types of players.

Zepi:Classic HD is a delight on the iPad. With fun sound effects, beautiful rich graphics, multiple achievements and opportunities for bonus points, quick learning curve but challenging mastery, Zepi:Classic would be a great addition to the collection of go-to-games for quick plays, like hanging out in the nail salon waiting for your manicure to dry.
