Samsung Series 7 700Z premium notebook looks magical
Do you like this story?
A wonderful brushed metallic chassis houses the 700Z in a surprisingly compact package, offering up a 15.6-inch high definition 1600 x 900 display, sporting an anti-glare coating and an impressive 300nit brightness.
A chiclet-style keyboard is backlit, with a full number pad over to the right, so you’ll be able to crunch those stats on the train with consummate ease.
Beneath the keyboard sits an impressive glass trackpad, which offers multitouch support and integrates the buttons. Its size gives you plenty of scope to control your laptop, but we have to say, it looks - and feels - exactly like a MacBook Pro.
That can be said of the design in general, with the ports down the left-hand side and the slot-loading optical drive on the right. The dropdown hinge is also reminiscent of those used by Apple.
Internally the Samsung Series 7 700Z gets a choice of Intel Core i5-2430M or i7-2675QM processor, with the entry level model shipping with 6GB RAM and integrated graphics. The step-up i5 will offer you an AMD Radeon HD6750M card with 1GB GPU, as will the i7 model. All come with a 750GB HDD.
The battery life is cited as 9 hours and the only dimensions we have for the 700Z are 23.9mm thick.
