PlayStation Vita European launch titles and AR games confirmed

PlayStation Vita European launch titles and AR games confirmed

Sony has laid its cards out with regards to the PlayStation Vita's European launch, literally. As well as naming the 12 first-party games that will be available when the Vita launches across the PAL regions on 22 February, the company has also detailed the 6 augmented reality cards that will be on offer as well.
The cards will work in tandem with free games that you can grab from the PlayStation Store and Sony is keen to point out that the Vita is the first games console that makes use of WAAR (Wide Area Augmented Reality) tech.
"In contrast to familiar single-card AR, WAAR uses up to six cards and allows for a much larger gameplay area than gamers have previously experienced," read a company statement.
Going forward, the PS Vita will also support markerless AR, which means that no cards will be needed at all.

Back to the launch titles and we've got the following coming our way for launch: Uncharted: Golden Abyss, WipEout 2048, Reality Fighters, Little Deviants, ModNation Racers: Road Trip, Everybody's Golf, Escape Plan, Top Darts, Hustle Kings, Unit 13 and MotorStorm RC.
Sony has also confirmed that the likes of Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom, Bioshock, and Ninja Gaiden are on their way as well after launch.javascript:void(0)
Flickr has also been added to the social side of the console. Twitter, Facebook, Skype and Foursquare were already confirmed.
An official partnership between Sony and Vodafone was recently announced, meaning that the phone network is the "preferred provider" for the 3G version of the console.
The PS Vita will go on sale in the UK, Europe and the US on 22 February. The new console will be available for £229.99 for the Wi-Fi model and £279.99 for the 3G/Wi-Fi model.
