Lenovo Q180 claims tiniest desktop title
Do you like this story?
The idea is that it behaves like a media centre for the living room as well as a basic PC to be used via your conventional television. It doesn't pack enough punch to be able to deliver any high-end gaming or graphical complexity, but is perfectly capable of providing things like web browsing and Blu-ray playback, if you choose it as an option.
The entry level box consists of a Intel Atom 2.13GHz processor, with 4GB of RAM and interestingly a choice of either a 128GB SSD or a 500GB HDD. You can upgrade to a discrete graphics card like a Radeon HD 6450A 512MB if you so desire, but don't expect it to be capable of running the latest games.
Also included in the package is an HDMI and 7.1 surround sound output, which given that the box is priced at $349, could mean it makes a rather handy home cinema hub with added PC action.
We can see this one hiding rather nicely somewhere in our DVD collection.
What do you think? Tiny enough? Let us know in the comments below ...
