iPad 3 Rumors: A5 or A6 Processor? (specs)

What Will Be Powering The iPad 3
Since John Gruber, a respected Apple watcher and predictor re-affirmed rumors of a2011 release date for the iPad 3 (by making strong hints); we’ve been keeping you up to date with exactly what’s being speculated.Gruber hinted that HP’s TouchPad is slated for a summer release which would put them well behind the iPad 2 launch, and that they may even be competing with the release of the iPad 3! Competing isn’t the likely term to use we feel since the HP TouchPad would be collecting dust on the shelves if it were to have a similar release date.
We’ve talked about what we want to see in the ipad 3 as far as specs go, but what exactly is realistic? Well for starters we feel like that completely depends on when the actual release date turns out to be.
Many big name companies, like Blizzard Entertainment who has been keeping fans of the Diablo franchise waiting for years while they perfect the ultimate gaming experience (as they release small bits of information yearly to keep you interested), would never think of a premature release date. This doesn’t seem to be the case for Apple however considering the recent iPad 2 release.
What does that mean for the power under the hood of the iPad 3 and for you?
Well it is possible that the iPad 3 could have a brand new processor, the Apple A6. A September 2011 release date would probably make for some time constraints however.We are expecting the A5 to be in the iPhone 5 when it is released this summer which would be plausible to include the same in the iPad 3. To us that just doesn’t scream the revolution they are planning with the iPad 3. But we’d like to consider every angle possible.
Will Apple schedule the September release with the A5 or the A6 processor? We certainly hope it’s the latter, but if it’s pushed back into 2012 then we’re certain Apple would be powering the iPad 3 with an A6 to make it even more enticing! Especially with the extra time they would have to include the hardware and specs to truly make it a revolution.
