Huawei MediaPad: mass power for the mass market
Do you like this story?
Described as a "complete entertainment powerhouse" the Huawei MediaPad doesn't quite make budget status as it's still an investment at £275, but it does sit at a price bracket that may well appeal to those not wanting the highest spec possible.
Talking of specs, the MediaPad features a 7-inch screen with Android 3.2 Honeycomb at the helm; this is backed up by a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor which will help with the 1080p full HD video recording. All this is wrapped up in what looks to be a nice unibody design.
Cameras on the front and back are1.3 megapixels and 5 megapixels respectively, whilst connectivity comes in the guise of 14.4Mbps HSPA+ and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n which is all kept going with a 6-hour battery life. The Huawei MediaPad supports Flash 10.3 and comes preinstalled with Facebook, Twitter, Let’s Golf and Documents to Go.
However, this is not the only announcement to come out of the Huawei offices as we've also had word of the new Huawei Vision mobile phone.
The Huawei MediaPad will be available in the UK at the beginning of 2012. As mentioned the Wi-Fi version of MediaPad is expected to sell in the region of £275.
