Box Cat Review
Do you like this story?
In Box Cat, players take control of the aptly named Box Cat and direct it as it runs back and forth, creating traffic mayhem. The cat travels in a straight line back and forth across various streets. Players can use touch or tilt controls to guide the cat back and forth. The goal is to have the cat run into as many cars as possible, and it’s up to the player to decide when to dash the cat across to get the most cars. The game’s three distinct modes let players decide exactly how they’d like to play. In the adventure mode, the player is in a race against the clock to progress from intersection to intersection by reaching the required number of smashed cars at each street. Players can extend their time by collecting clocks from passing birds. Players can also become the dreaded “Super Box Cat” by collecting three gold coins from the passing birds. This cat is huge and pushes any car out of it’s way.
In the survival mode, players must hit as many cars in each wave without missing. Once three cars are missed, the game is over. Rush hour mode pits players against traffic madness for 90 seconds to see how many crashes they can rack up. By completing in game challenges, players can also unlock crazy new Box Cat characters like the moldy Zombie Cat or the cool Hat Cat.
This game is a great bite-sized retro masterpiece with focused gameplay and modes that will fit any gaming occasion. Box Cat‘s quirky, unrelentingly enjoyable role reversal will keep players crashing this kitty for a long, long time.
